Sleep and Recovery: Make Recovery Part of Training

Training creates a demand on your body; recovery gives it time to adapt. Sleep, adequate food and well-planned days off are the foundation of a sustainable routine.

Set up your evening

A regular bedtime and wake time, a cool dark room and a wind-down routine can make sleep easier to prioritise. Consider limiting caffeine later in the day and putting screens aside before bed.

Recover throughout the day

Eat enough to support your activity, include protein across meals and replace fluids after training. Adjust your workload when fatigue persists. Supplements may be convenient additions, but they cannot make up for consistently short sleep or inadequate meals.

If sleep difficulties persist or affect daily life, speak with a healthcare professional.
