Whey vs Plant Protein: Finding Your Fit

Protein helps support the maintenance and growth of muscle. A powder can be a convenient addition when meals alone do not meet your needs, but a good choice is one you enjoy and can use consistently.

What is the difference?

Whey comes from milk and naturally provides all essential amino acids. Whey isolate is filtered to contain less lactose and fat than many concentrates, though it is still a milk product. Plant blends often combine sources such as pea and rice to provide a broader amino acid profile and suit people avoiding dairy.

Compare the serving, not the scoop

Check grams of protein per serving, the serving weight, ingredients, allergens and flavour. Plant powders can have a different texture; whey may mix more smoothly. Both can fit a balanced diet alongside dal, beans, dairy, eggs, tofu and other protein-rich foods.

Make it practical

Choose a flavour you like, mix as directed and use it at a convenient time. Your overall food intake and training routine matter more than a particular shake schedule.
